Grrr...
Please excuse me while I explode.

I HATE Windows XP. I HATE the fact that I had NO choice but to purchase that piece of shit OS even though it just came out when I bought my computer.

I HATE Microsoft FrontPage and all of its six million bugs.

I HATE Macromedia Dreamweaver for not being able to run properly on my computer.

I HATE Opera for forcing me to sign into My Yahoo before even being able to get into my Yahoo email.

AAAAAAARGH!

Ok. I'm done now. Now back to your regular programming.

Yes! Burn the Impurities!
A Pennsylvania Church has decided to build a big bonfire and burn "Harry Potter books, Disney videos, rock CDs and literature from other religions, purging their lives of things they felt stood between them and their faith." (Taken from HERE)

So then are they burning biology books too? After all, schools do force children to learn about Darwin's theories in Biology classes and it only makes sense?

They call it help
My links section won't work.

I contacted Tripod because that what they said to do and on the same day they accuse me of having my cookies turned off.

I contacted them back immediately to say that I never had my cookies turned off, please help.

They contacted me back three days later to tell me to try the Manage Links button a few hours later.

Whereas I almost purchased their web hosting, now I will NOT. Is that how they treat their customer if they pay?

I am so pissed. I'd rather receive an answer that is somewhat helpful two weeks later than some lame email right away to brush me the fuck off.

And to think... Tripod is owned by Carnegie Mellon University! Or is that the problem?

Frustrations
I have hi-speed connection to the Internet. So why the hell does it take ten seconds to pull up some pages?

Yes, I expect you to push the gas pedal when you?re in a new car driving up an onramp.

You?re sick of your fucking kids, so you send them outside to let EVERY ONE ELSE be fucking sick of your kids. You sick fuck.

The Ford Focus is cute. The Ford Focus when driven and cutting people off is a cheap fucking piece of shit waiting to fall apart.

Old station wagons are never to be lowered with rims. That is so against the rules of beautification. Do you seriously not hear the laughter of every one who sees your ?phat? ride? Dude, at least get a Civic in the mid-90s or something. Please.

You may think so, but you really don?t look that cool if you are cutting people off in an old beat-up car, regardless of how loud your music is. Especially if you look like that

Yes, I am blasting Justin Timberlake in my husband?s truck with awesome sound. Gotta problem with it?

Ugh.

Embarrassed
How embarrassing.

Here we are, boycotting French wine and the word "French" and look what happened... The French assisted 100 Americans in evacuating Liberia (why the FUCK would you go to Liberia in the first fucking place??!!).

Pagen
After reading some bloggers on the net outside of Tripod, all I have to say is this:

Ooh you are Pagen. Yes, I get it with your ten million images and twenty million references to how "personal" you consider your religion. I'm shocked already. I see that it makes you special. So taboo. *rolleyes* Have I satisfied your need to shock already?

TOTALLY random thought:

You know you've been married that long when you pop the zits on your spouse's back without thinking anything of it.

Running Water?
I'm leaving next Monday (June 16) to Illinois to work with my dad for a couple of months.

(Is that even possible in 2003?)

So then... Does he have running water?

Horse or Man?
Dear God.

We've got Palestinian gunmen fucks killing Israelis at a peace summit, German soldiers killed by an Afghan loony, Martha Stewart who may be going to prison for a misjudgment, and PeopleSoft who slapped Oracle in the face for the bid.

But boys and girls, we must find out who is faster, horse or man?

Question requiring equal intelligence: Who travels faster, a jaguar or a snail?

Come on!

PEOPLESOFT SLAMS ORACLE'S BID
"PeopleSoft has slammed Oracle's proposal, calling it nothing but a disruptive tactic...to acquire PeopleSoft."

-Yahoo! News Business Routers

Dear Oracle: Did you stop to think that when PeopleSoft put in a bid to purchase JD Edwards, they had intentions of continuing to function under their current leadership? Oh wait... That was a stupid question for me to ask... After all, you did put your bid in FOUR DAYS AFTER.

And after all PeopleSoft has accomplished, all the work they put into a successful monopolization in different industries with their fabulous product (and I'm not kidding when I say fabulous), 5.1 billion seems to be a cheesy cheap deal. Considering just for the HRMS suite alone costs an
establishment 1 million plus.

So... GO PEOPLESOFT!

Michael Savage
What hole have I been hiding in?

Michael Savage is brash, speaks rudely in an articulate manner and is a big fan of interrupting others to get in what he has say.

Half the time I'm jumping up and down in agreement, the other half I am yelliing at my TV telling him what an idiot he is for having the opinions he holds.

Gawd, I love him!

Opera
Internet Explorer.I've been using this product for years. Which is great and all but there are bugs that bug me i.e. the invisible windows, the Clear History function that won't work anymore, not enough control for customization, etc.

Netscape. What a filthy piece of CRAP! It is worth less than what I paid for. And in case you didn't get that joke, Netscape is FREE. Which I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised because after all, it was bought out by AOL and we ALL know that anything AOL touches is CRAP. These are just a few of the problems I suffered from this thing they call a "web browser":
  • Most web pages come out looking completely different different from what they are supposed to, like borders and horizontal lines (h2 tag)
  • When you conduct a search on a page, it won't look in any scroll boxes in the page, which IE does
  • There are pages that IE opens just fine that Netscape will adamantly tell you that it doesn't exist or whatever
  • When you install or upgrade Netscape, they litter your desktop, Start Menu, QuickLaunch and bookmarks with AOL crap. Why am I surprised?!?!
So after nosing around on the net, I found a group of nerdy guys who swear by Opera. Wondering what all those Opera-snobs were talking about, I decided to downloaded it from CNET downloads (here) to try it and... LOVED IT!

I usually require heavy convincing prior to purchasing a product when it comes to the Net but I will buy it. I don't care about the fact that pages look completely fucked up in Opera, because the control you are given for your browser is amazing! There's even a way for you to set up multiple users for Opera, which is fabulous because although I
love tools that remember passwords, I am too paranoid to ever use them and Opera just lent that function to me to where I can feel comfortable. Also, when it comes to programs on a computer, I pick functions, never caring about aesthetics; however, after viewing the My Opera area, I couldn't resist dressing up my new favorite browser with a cute, new adorable skin. I don't even care that the free version comes with a banner ad. I've been looking for a perfect web host to host a domain that I'm planning to buy, so I customized the banner to only show me those (and I usually hate ads). And I haven't seen those stupid "shoot this hamburger and get a free GAP certificate" ads too. Oh and one more thing: while Opera comes bundled with a whole shit load of bookmarks, I was surprised that they didn't just link Opera stuff; they add interesting and potentially useful sites. Actually I had to take back out of the Trash section to fish out some of those neat links.

So there you go. Go try Opera. I'm [pretty] sure you'll agree with what I have to say about it and love it even more for the other cool stuff I didn't mention. Like the built-in pop-up stopper that you can specify to allow only the pop-ups that you request. Like the MOST bitchin' find/search feature ever for both the Net and the page you're looking at.

Zombie
I hate bloggers.

People need to STOP posting interesting thoughts. It's killing me. I can't stop reading.

You freaking people make me stay up waaaaaaay past my bedtime with your content, provoking comments from my husband.

Dishes are piling up in my sink.

I ate only one meal today.

I've lost a couple pounds since the inception of my blogger (which was when I started reading other blogs), which is a lot for a cute petite lil thing like me.

So people, start posting boring crap. Please. I need you to do this... Do it for me! I need to wean myself... Detoxify.

I'm tired. It's eleven p.m. and I must, must MUST go to bed.

And I will go to bed.

After I sneak in one more blogger.

SAVE MARTHA! - not
Yo.

While I love Martha products and respect Martha as a hard-working woman who scratched her way to the top, I am not this much into Martha. But I won't hold it against you if you go there and sign the petition.

I personally think that she's guilty, guilty, guilty but hey, who am I judge? (HA!) I'm just a selfish girl who wants my cute schtuff for cheap.

The Bitterest Pill
Purchasing pills to enlarge penises is hilarious but forgivable for thinking with the wrong head.

Purchasing pills to enlarge breasts is also forgivable for, although it's not to the same extent the ads claim, birth control pills can do the same thing.

But for anyone to put money down to purchase pills to better their game of golf or increase their height deserves to lose their money, even if C.P. Direct is getting shut down for fraud. We've got to learn that common sense exists to be used, not to sit there and collect dust, right?

English
There was a period of time when I was looking for a job in the HR industry and couldn't find one without the requirement of speaking Spanish. Uh, excuse me? I thought I lived in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! I can understand if these establishments had something to do with import/export or had international branches, but they didn't have either, so they had no credible excuse except for coddling.

I have an aunt who is the same way; she's lived in Los Angeles for at least fifteen years and prior to that, she lived in Canada where she obtained citizenship. Yet she can barely speak a lick of English. She can't even communicate with her children, who were all born in Canada and speak English natively, yet she refuses to learn due to the comforts Los Angeles offers her to continue existing in her ignorance.

All I can say is, if my parents can immigrate from Taiwan to America, move to the East Coast where there was no pampering and learn English, so can EVERYONE ELSE. Hey, every time I visit Taiwan, do you think I speak English? (Except to fellow foreigners but that's different) When I vacationed in Thailand do you think I left my fucking translation book at home? No and no.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Except in Los Angeles.

Capital Punishment

Questionable priority

If all the advocates against capital punishment were to spend as much time trying to eliminate murder as they do trying to eliminate the death penalty, wouldn't they accomplish both?

Hillary Clinton
Yay! I found an article about Hillary Clinton's new book, "Living History" located here (link may expire on 06/20/2003). According to this article, Hillary talks about "...taking some responsibility for 'botching' health care reform... being insensitive at first to those who felt she was taking the role of first lady too far off the traditional course..." Seriously folks, for anyone - a politician for that matter! - to admit fault... That takes courage, strength and taking your pride down a notch or two. But what's even more amazing is that she admits this freely (she isn't even up for reelection until 2007 - 4 years from now and many years after we will no longer care about this book). Hey, I can't even "take responsibility" for taking the last piece pie that my husband was saving for himself - which never happened by the way! lol

According to the very wonderful Don Burns' comment here, Hillary visits even the rural parts of New York. I once saw her appear as an arriving guest on a documentary about the Waldorf Astoria where she stepped out and shook everyone's hand, complete with eye contact and a genuine smile without looking down at anyone (that I could see, anyway). Even on TV you could sense the power and warmth she possesses in her aura. But my most favorite thing about Hillary is when she sees her daughter Chelsea, for for that time being, she is no longer a politician... She is a mother who loves her daughter, and you can't fake something like that.

So, go Hillary!
