Opera
Internet Explorer.I've been using this product for years. Which is great and all but there are bugs that bug me i.e. the invisible windows, the Clear History function that won't work anymore, not enough control for customization, etc.

Netscape. What a filthy piece of CRAP! It is worth less than what I paid for. And in case you didn't get that joke, Netscape is FREE. Which I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised because after all, it was bought out by AOL and we ALL know that anything AOL touches is CRAP. These are just a few of the problems I suffered from this thing they call a "web browser":
  • Most web pages come out looking completely different different from what they are supposed to, like borders and horizontal lines (h2 tag)
  • When you conduct a search on a page, it won't look in any scroll boxes in the page, which IE does
  • There are pages that IE opens just fine that Netscape will adamantly tell you that it doesn't exist or whatever
  • When you install or upgrade Netscape, they litter your desktop, Start Menu, QuickLaunch and bookmarks with AOL crap. Why am I surprised?!?!
So after nosing around on the net, I found a group of nerdy guys who swear by Opera. Wondering what all those Opera-snobs were talking about, I decided to downloaded it from CNET downloads (here) to try it and... LOVED IT!

I usually require heavy convincing prior to purchasing a product when it comes to the Net but I will buy it. I don't care about the fact that pages look completely fucked up in Opera, because the control you are given for your browser is amazing! There's even a way for you to set up multiple users for Opera, which is fabulous because although I
love tools that remember passwords, I am too paranoid to ever use them and Opera just lent that function to me to where I can feel comfortable. Also, when it comes to programs on a computer, I pick functions, never caring about aesthetics; however, after viewing the My Opera area, I couldn't resist dressing up my new favorite browser with a cute, new adorable skin. I don't even care that the free version comes with a banner ad. I've been looking for a perfect web host to host a domain that I'm planning to buy, so I customized the banner to only show me those (and I usually hate ads). And I haven't seen those stupid "shoot this hamburger and get a free GAP certificate" ads too. Oh and one more thing: while Opera comes bundled with a whole shit load of bookmarks, I was surprised that they didn't just link Opera stuff; they add interesting and potentially useful sites. Actually I had to take back out of the Trash section to fish out some of those neat links.

So there you go. Go try Opera. I'm [pretty] sure you'll agree with what I have to say about it and love it even more for the other cool stuff I didn't mention. Like the built-in pop-up stopper that you can specify to allow only the pop-ups that you request. Like the MOST bitchin' find/search feature ever for both the Net and the page you're looking at.
